Oakfield Contracting Services Ltd, incorporated in 2016 is owned by Lee Evans who has over 20 years of working in the damp proofing industry.
Lee’s journey in the building industry began at fifteen years old, working weekends and school holidays alongside his uncles and grandfather. His uncles ran their own building company specialising in renovation works, maintenance and conservatory bases, while his grandfather served as a building maintenance surveyor for Gloucester City Council. These early experiences gave Lee a strong foundation in the trade and sparked a lasting interest in construction and problem-solving. After finishing school, Lee briefly tried factory work, but it quickly became clear that it wasn’t the right fit. He soon found his place with a local company specialising in timber preservation and damp control and it was here that his passion for the industry truly developed. Each property brought its own unique challenges. No two jobs were ever the same—every building had its quirks requiring creative thinking, practical solutions and a tailored approach to repairs.
What Lee enjoys most about his work is the variety and the unpredictability. From carrying out pre-purchase surveys to tackling complex repairs on non-standard construction, the job is never repetitive. He also values the travel that comes with it, taking him across Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Herefordshire, Monmouth and into Wales. Whether it’s exploring an abandoned property or working in a rural village, each day brings fresh challenges and new scenery to enjoy. Today with over 20 years of hands-on experience behind him, Lee continues to take pride in delivering practical, reliable solutions that preserve and protect buildings.
Wanting to expand the Company, Ryan joined the team in 2019 as our apprentice. Completing his apprenticeship in 2022, Ryan has built on his skills set and is now a qualified site supervisor meaning our Company can be working on multiple sites. Bailey joined us on an apprenticeship in 2024 and is close to finishing his level 2. Kaiden joined us in 2025 on an apprenticeship and is on track to complete this in 2027 and Keira is based in our office handling our enquiries and quotations.
